About LadnerBC.com
LadnerBC.com is a local guide to Ladner, the village on the south arm of the Fraser River in Delta, British Columbia: its Sunday market, the Massey Tunnel, the parks and farms on the flats around it, the schools and the businesses in the village. It's privately owned and operated by Digified Media, which builds and runs local websites.
Please note: LadnerBC.com is a privately owned local information site. It is not affiliated with the City of Delta, the Ladner Village Market, the Ladner Business Association, the Delta Chamber of Commerce or the Province of BC. For official information, please visit delta.ca, ladnervillagemarket.com, ladnerbusiness.com, deltachamber.ca or gov.bc.ca.
What the site is for
People look Ladner up for practical reasons. They want to know whether the market is on this Sunday, what the tunnel looks like before they leave the house, where to park at the bird sanctuary, or which schools serve the village. Each of those questions should have one page that answers it, and that's what we're building, a section at a time. The homepage lists every section that's open.
How pages stay current
Some pages are written guides: what a place is, how to get there, what to expect when you arrive. We write those so they stay true. Anything that changes often, such as hours, admission, this year's market dates or the tunnel's counterflow times, is linked to whoever sets it.
Other pages are built from published data: City of Delta business licences, DriveBC's traffic feed, the Province's school files. A block of data on this site names its source and shows when it was last fetched. If a feed stops updating, the block comes off the page and the link to the official source stays.
Where the information comes from
Before a written guide goes up, each fact in it is checked against whoever publishes it: the City of Delta, the Province, the market's own site, OpenStreetMap. The feeds behind the data pages, and the credit each one asks for, are listed on the data sources page.
